[MyBB 1.4/1.6] Usermap

RE: [MyBB 1.4/1.6] Usermap
My users requested the possibility to find other people with the search field. At the moment this isn't possible because all pins are hidden if you search a location. Instead the plugin just sets a new pin on the searched spot which can be set as your home.
In my eyes it would be much better if the "OK"-Button would always be there and set the pin at the middle of the displayed area. I think this would be much more intuitive and the it's not important if you scrolled to your house oder used the search field.
In addition you then could use the search field to find other users in a particular area.

I don't know if that's technically doable and if you want to develop the plugin in this direction but I'd be pretty happy if you realized this idea.

Greets,

Nico

RE: [MyBB 1.4/1.6] Usermap
I just installed your map on a newly upgraded board - 1.6 Mybb.

It was working fine yesterday and now it's not. It has users asking to login as well. I have this on one of my other sites and it's working just fine.

I got a new API Key from Google.

Right now the map shows as a guest view only and members cannot put pins in it or input addresses.

Do you know any reason why it would work one day and not the next?
OK more troubleshooting help for you.

I just tried it on another of my sites and it's working BUT i just got an error message:

Type: 2
File: usermap.php (Line no. 165)
Message
Invalid argument supplied for foreach()

Now, two questions....

The map that isn't working.... could it be a hosting issue?
The error - could that error be the cause combined with a hosting issue to make this not work on that site?

Update - I got the map working properly. Seems you have to format the link according to the board code and not an "http://whateversite.con/usermap.php.

The invalid argument error is still happening though. Any clue?

Does anyone check this site anymore?

I have a problem:

When you enter your PIN, you will receive the following error message:

Error
Coordinates not found for address.

This is the PIN? right?

@w-miky-w
I guess you mix up PIN and API. You need the API from google to run the usermap properly (has to be inserted in the ACP). The PIN is the sign which will be set at your location on the map.

@Twitchin Kitten:
Did you try to run the old version of the usermap as well? Might be that you will not have this problem. The old version should run on 1.6 as well (change 14* to 16* in plugin file).

ahhhhh,I Understand all. but I have an alert when I insert a location :

This site requires a different key of API Google Maps.You can generate a new key at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html.

How can remove it?

If you run the usermap on different forums you need seperate APIs for each....

RE: [MyBB 1.4/1.6] Usermap
Hello,

I hope people still read messages here ...

Anyway, ever since we upgraded this plugin to 1.1.1, nobody can pin themselves on the map if they are not already on it. I do not know if 1.1.2 was supposed to fix this issue, but I remember reading on the MyBB Community message board that people were still having similar problems anyway.

Is there a way to safely go back to the earlier versions before 1.1.1 ? Actually, our board has evolved so much since we discovered the problems with upgrading the usermap plugin that it would not be that bad to just erase all the data/pins and start over fresh.

Here is our current usermap :
http://worldbeyblade.org/usermap.php

We have currently not upgraded MyBB to 1.6 yet due to several issues such as the uncertainty of our current host's database backup restoring feature ...

Thank you for your time,

Kai-V
